Chemises and Blouses
A comfortable cotton chemise is a must for the Faire-goer. Worn under dresses, skirts, bodices, and jackets to help create and authentic olde world look. Our chemises are the same front or back, so if something gets spilled, you can simply turn the chemise around and keep having fun. Elastic casings at neckline and sleeves all have opening to adjust the length. If you wish, ribbon may be inserted instead of elastic for a more authentic feel to the garment. Machine washable, machine dryable, 100% cotton becomes softer with each washing. To avoid tripping on the hem, we recommend the chemise just brush the tops of your feet, rather than drop down to the ground. We have several different sleeve options from tiny abbreviated "sweetheart" sleeves to long, full triple puffed sleeves.
Blouses are shortened versions of the chemise. Although not as historically accurate as a chemise, blouses save you money and reduce the amount of fabric you wear. Especially nice when the temperatures soar into the triple digits. Because many of our blouses are made from scraps, they can be very cost effective and allow you a bit left over to splurge on the bodice or dress.
